Have not read the manual yet, but a quick browse helps me to log some important details. The machine can be used with an online tracker, but this is with Scottish Hydro. However, if you enter some data from your electricity supplier, the machine will still track how much you should use in a day and monitor things like your daily and weekly usage.
The manual also describes a lot of interesting features like how much your electricity is costing you per week, alerts you to when you are using a lot of energy and also has a GridWatch feature to alert you when there is a lot of strain on the National Grid, encouraging you to switch off unnecessary appliances and reduce overconsumption at these critical times. Also, if you are actively trying to reduce consumption of electricity, the meter will monitor consumption against your target and alert you if you are going to fail to meet this on a daily or weekly basis.
